Mrs. Howard's & Ms. Barker's Rules and Expectations:
We believe that every student can choose to behave appropriately
at school. We will not tolerate a student stopping us from teaching or preventing any other student from
learning.
Class
rules: Bring your textbooks, notebooks, and writing tools to school with
you every day! Be on time and ready for class. This
means being seated, with agenda open to current date on desk, and current reading book on desk as well. Students
should ALWAYS have reading book on top of desk, ready to read at any time. On Monday mornings, Friday Folder
should be on desk as well when the tardy bell rings. Be
attentive while the teacher, or the student who is called on, is talking. No
food, drink, candy, toys, or other unnecessary items in class. Water is allowed in a container with a lid.
Walkmans, Ipods, Game boys, cell phones etc. are not allowed in the classroom. These are best left
at home or in a backpack in the hall. Treat ALL
people and property with respect.
Our school policy states that there is NO TOLERANCE for violence. If your child becomes physically violent
with another student they will be suspended from school immediately. A student suspended from school the first time
will be sent home for a day without being able to make up missed assignments. Repeat offenders will be asked to stay
out for two days. After a child has been suspended a third time, he/she may not reenter the school until his/her parent
or guardian returns with him/her for a full school day.
School wide expectations of students can be found in the student handbook, along with consequences for violations.
Any other information not covered here can be found in the school handbook.
