Meet Ms. Devon Barker...
She teaches 5th grade at Meadows Valley
School. This is her fourth year of teaching at Meadows Valley. She grew up in Lewiston, Idaho and graduated from Lewiston
High School in 1990. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in History with a minor in teaching from the College of Idaho
1994. In 1999 she earned her Masters in Teaching from the University of Idaho and received her National Board Certification
in 2001. Ms Barker’s great passions are teaching and kayaking. She also enjoys using technology to do video productions,
playing Jeopardy, skiing, hockey, rafting, and reading. Her favorite book is Canyon Door by Kevin Boos.
Her goal is to kayak on all seven continents. She only has Asia and Antarctica
to go! She has kayaked the Nile River in Uganda which she considers one of the most interesting trips she had ever taken.. Her favorite countries are
New Zealand and Australia! Ms. Barker’s life theme is “Anything worth doing is worth overdoing”. To her
students she wants to inspire and motivate them with these words…
Anything
can be achieved with hard work, dedication, and a deep down drive that says, “I can do it.” I am excited to be teaching fifth
grade this year and cannot wait to start singing with my students! Here we go...
